The TABZS4 (T@B ZS4) Video Editor - What the....?

I know, the TABZS4 (T@B ZS4) free video editor sounds crazy - especially with a name like that, but I figured we should check it out anyway.

It is, basically, an evolution of the Zwei-Stein video editor for windows. This version (the latest version) is actually optimised for faster windows or PC's running the Linux operating system. because they're a small outfit they can't check or test this on every set-up but as they say themselves:

On a computer with less than 512mb of ram and a 1ghz processor, the performance of TABZS4 (T@B ZS4) may be somewhat sluggish. A better processor is recommended.

My advise to you would be to download this tool and check out whether it runs fast enough for you.

They did have a Mac version but because their second hand G5 expired they were unable to create the latest release under the Mac OS.

TABZS4 is essentially a compositing tool AND a video editing tool. It uses a timeline, similar to the larger, professional tools, but it also has functionality to allow you to apply 'filters' to it to affect the video. This includes items such as 'Green Screen' (or Chromakey), distortions and colour manipulations.

Summary:The documentation is a little sparse, but if you have a fast enough machine (and a bit of patience) this looks like a reasonable tool to use
