DVD Flick - A free tool to burn DVD's

DVD Flick is a windows based free DVD burning tool. It allows you to take video files from many many formats and create a DVD file from them. It even includes a burning tool to physically burn the file to a DVD after creation.

One of the other key features this tool has is an ability to add additional audio tracks to your DVD. This allows you the option of creating, for example, an audio commentary to play with your DVD.

DVD Flick supports 45 file formats, 60 video codecs and 40 audio codecs.

This is a tool that has been around for quite a while (version 1.3 is currently in Beta testing) and has an active support forum.

One feature I especially like is the ability to knit multiple files together to create a single video. This is useful if you've created a large movie but split it into smaller chunks to make the encoding and rendering easier. DVD Flick will allow you to merge them together within the tool to create your final film (which I think is pretty neat)

General Support

DVD Flick relies on the very powerful FFMPEG project to decode the many file formats and codecs it supports. FFMPEG is also used to provide audio and video encoding functionality in order to produce the final DVD.

FFMPEG's homepage can be found at http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/.

Summary

A good looking, although reasonably basic, DVD authoring tool. Support for lots of codecs and the ability to add additional audio tracks and subtitles make this a cut above some of the others available out there.
